Phase I of construction of our fire training simulator is now complete. The project was paid for thru donations from the Pugliese Foundation, Encino Energy, Williams Energy, and the Transcanada Corporation. The balance of funding was provided thru a loan from Main Street Bank. In this part of the training simulator we have two different live burn areas as well as a number of different props that our firefighters can use in their training. We can also send smoke to every floor of the building to simulate search and rescue situations. Phase II of the project will be paid for with a $250,000 award from the Ohio Capital Budget and will include sidewalks and lighting, a fire flashover training area, and a car fire prop. We will also be adding a thermal imaging camera system to the building so that our instructors can watch and record the firefighters as they conduct their search operations in fire and smoke conditions. We want to thank Representative Jack Cera for his help and support in obtaining the Capital Budget funds.
Phase II of construction of our fire training simulator is now complete. This phase of the project was paid for with a $250,000 award from the Ohio Capital Budget and includes sidewalks and lighting, a fire flashover training area, a car fire prop, and several other propane props. We again want to thank Representative Jack Cera for his help and support in obtaining the Capital Budget funds!
Phase III of construction of our fire training simulator is now in the works. Congressman Bill Johnson worked diligently to secure funding in the Federal budget for a grain bin training prop and it was approved. Next up will be the actual construction of the simulator that will allow area firefighters to train in a realistic environment that they might encounter in a grain bin rescue scenario.
